Hi all
I'm from Melbourne Australia and have loved Jags for many years. Have enjoyed restoring them, 2 in particular, a Mark V 1950 and took out "runner up" in concor, 5 years hard work, my wife chrisened it "The Mistress" as I was spending more time in the garage than her.....she was very understanging. My other favourite was a 1966 1.5 E-Type 4.2.
Current ride is an 2019 I-Pace, SE, however it was rear-ended 12 months ago whilst waiting at traffic lights, pushed us over 2 lanes. Still waiting for it, body work, wasn't serious as the rear crumple zone did a magificent job. The issue is the acquistion of parts, 4 high-voltage onboard chargers valued at $8,200(AUD) each, taking 2 months for each to be sent from the UK, 3 arrived damaged in transit and unusable. Next the cooler for the battery needed replacement, recently completed, but then the battery wouldn't charge.
I have a photo of the car with 4 locked wheels being dragged up onto a tray truck.....I stopped the truckie, who replyed, "Don't tell me how to do my job".....he was a BIG guy..... I've read the post by - enderle on 04-11-2023 at 4.44pm (Moderator) - "A Cautionary Story" which is a bit of a worry. Let's hope that it didn't damage the battery, there was no sign of any damage to the battery.
I'm guessing that the incredible force of impact played havock with the electronics. Currently, JLR Australia is in contact with JLR UK, who in turn are making recommendations; which are being eliminated one at a time to see what could be the cause of not being able to charge the battery.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
