Need advice to buy my first Jaguar
I'm new in this group, I own a Land Rover cars the last 15 years, and I love it, (had 2 Range Rover, 2 Disco, 1 Evoque, 2 Defenders) Now i just have a Defender 110 2010 and a Evoque, but I really would like to have a other car and my first choice is another British car, and Jaguar was always, in my opinion, the most beautiful design cars ever. I have 10k budget to buy this car.
I love the design of the XJ8, and I'm interested to buy one of them. from 2000 and newer. What your advise of the best year of those? Any other suggestions in terms of engine or reliability? Witch your in your opinion they fixed the most complicated problems?
I really appreciate your advices.
Thanks,
PVK

Welcome to the forum PVK,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Your choice of XJ8 is between the steel bodied X308 (1997-2003) and the aluminium bodied X350 (2003-2009). With all used Jaguars, previous history is more important than age. A well maintained example is a pleasure to own but a neglected example is a money pit.
Follow this link XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum and this one XJ XJ6 / XJ8 / XJR ( X350 & X358 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X350 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
