Question Need help with 1999 VDP Driver door inside handle failure

New to Jaguar Forums and this is my first post - d a I have a 99 VDP and have lost the ability to open the drivers door from the inside. Pulled on the handle one day to get out and had it go slack and felt detached. My research shows likely that cable connection to the pull handle has separated at the front end. Jaguar says the only fix is to replace unit as a whole - Cost $300 for part alone - From Youtube videos it seems that the process requires the pulling of the entire cable and that means removing the electric actuator mechanism at the back end of the cable, a very difficult job. Does anyone know of any easier fix?

Welcome. Not sure about easier, but cheaper shouldn't be hard to do. Try searching eBay for the cable....
