Hello, new to the forum, new to Jaguar, not new to British cars.

I just bought a XJS. I've loved these cars since i was 19. The lines and of course the V12.

Not sure why, but i gravitate towards the British idea of a sports car...
I own a 2005 supercharged Elise, 1971 S2 Europa, and now the XJS. There is some fun in the very different nature of an XJS vs. the Europa i think i will enjoy very much.

Welcome to the forum Exarkun1178,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I've always enjoyed driving a Europa on the few opportunities I've had. You'll be relieved to hear that Jaguars are usually a little less 'difficult' than Lotus.

Follow this link XJS - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJS forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US North East Region forum by following this link North East US - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Thank you.

Ive ordered a new top, and carpets. looks like i will need a new floor pan and help with electric.

Oh and a new battery box. the original split and leaked. bad.

This rust stuff is new to me. I suppose its one reason ive always preferred fiberglass cars..

Not source for wire wheels? are they not common on XJS's?

They are available new here in the UK although many owners have theirs rebuilt or go for P/X as a slightly lower cost option. Here is one supplier for 'new' but there are several others:

Wire wheels for Jaguar and Daimler - SC Parts Group Ltd

Wires also turn up on ebay. Here's a set listed in FL:

Jaguar Chrome Wire Spoke Rims Wheels XJ6 XJ12 XJS "Intermarque"15"x 7" | eBay

Hello & welcome , nice to see you here . I agree , over the years the British have made some amazing sports cars ...complete with their trade mark unreliability ...but !! thats why we love them....Enjoy !
