Default New 1974 xj6 owner in Arkansas.

Bought the jag yesterday, it's being delivered in 3 days and I can't stand the wait. Paid $600 for it. Clean title, starts and runs. It starts and runs, but bad brakes. When asked what was wrong with the brakes the last owner said "it's a jag". Body and frame are straight with minor scratches except for the hood paint that's cracking in the middle. It's at least the second paint job (brg over some color of red) but it looks like it stopped the corner window rust.
I'm going to ask this in the xj6 forum but does anyone know the deal with my all black interior? I read somewhere that it was a special option.
Anywho, looking forward to working on it and with you fine people.

Side note, how do I change back to mobile view?

You got a runner for $600! Even with no brakes that's a Very good deal!
By the way, its "being a Jag" has Nothing to do with if the brakes don't work.

I'll look for you over in our Xj6 playroom.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Yeah the guy bought it for $800 for a hot rod project. Too many projects later, he just wants it off his lawn. He would have sold me a 57 mk1 roller for 400 with lots of rust and dents, but one thing at a time. If I get the xj6 running and stopping, and he still has it I'm grabbing.

Welcome to the forum Jwhoaglan,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the XJ6 & XJ12 Seroes I, II & III forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/
to find other members in your region.

You can get back to mobile view by clicking on Jaguar Forums in the black bar at the bottom of the page:
