I read a few posts here that helped me decide to purchase my vehicle. This is my first Jaguar and I’m excited and worried all at the same moment. I’m very happy to be a member here.
I’ve been a fan of the xjs, especially the 1996 for some time. I haven’t taken delivery of the vehicle yet. I purchased the vehicle and I’m having it trailered. I’m attaching photos that were taken by the dealer -
I purchased a 98k mile car that supposedly has a lot of records, but it is a non factory color re-spray. I liked the color and the body looked clean
so I went for it - but… It is no longer the British racing green as it was made. It has a non factory radio as well,
but it seems all else is stock. When I take delivery I will post more photos and then I will know what I’m in for.

Hello,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar!
You shouldn't believe all the bad press Jaguar gets. I'm convinced a lot of it is Jealousy pure and simple. Once in a while there might be a truly Bad car, but mostly it's negligent and careless owners causing the trouble.
98,000 miles is just now well broken in and loosened up for a modern engine. With continued proper care and feeding, this car should last you at Least another 100,000 miles.
Oh by the way. First thing you need to do when your Jag is delivered, if at all possible take it out and DRIVE IT! This is the Only way to get to properly know a new car. These cars weren't made to sit around being buffed. If you don't DRIVE it, it will think you're afraid and that won't do at all.
Now that I have read a few forum topics it seems I have an aftermarket "leaper" ...haha, Who knows what else will be non stock when I get it in 2 weeks?

That is a very popular dealer or owner addition in the US although Jaguar ceased fitting them as standard when XJ6 was introduced in 1968.
