New Dutch member
Hi,
My name is Jeroen. I’m from the Netherlands. Married, three kids. My wife is British, but grew up in Barbados where we also met and got married. We have lived and worked in various places around the world. During the early 80’s we lived in Brighton. The last four years in Delhi, Indian and the four years prior to India, we lived in Kansas City, India.
It was in Kansas City I bought my Jaguar XJR of Ebay. First evening in my hotel and I knew I needed a car. Never liked Americans car much and always liked the XJR. By chance I came across a gorgeous XJR. I send the owner a message, he called me back within an hour and the rest is history.
In Kansas City the Jaguar was my daily drive and we have taken it on many a road trip across many different states. When my assignment for India was announced I decided I wanted to keep it and had it shipped back to my home country the Netherlands. From 2012 to mid 2016 it sat in storage, together with my 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider and 1982 Mercedes W123. I got to drive them occasionally. But I’m back in the Netherlands since summer 2016 so at long last I get to drive it some more.
I like working on cars and do most jobs myself. Got myself various OBD analysers in the USA, electronics don’t scare me.
I have driven some 60K miles with this car since 2009 on and off. It just passed the 150.000 last week only. Barely run in. My car has the latest version tensioners, so no worries there, also the latest waterpump modification are fitted.
I did have to change the throttle body early on and of course I have had a whole host of little electrical gremlins. Most solved by ensuring the battery is in good working order with a healthy voltage and all contacts, fuses, relais, pins, connecters, earth connection are clean!

Here is my Jaguar in the Kansas prairie:

Here in customary pose hooked up to my laptop running an Autoengenuity OBD program

And in it’s more natural habitat a few months ago, near Goodwood, early morning
