New to the Forum
Well, we have had our first Jaguar for 6 years now (the 2003 VDP). Before registering today, I had visited the forum on occassion and found it useful for fixing the VDP (like to do a lot of the repairs myself). The wife does not want to trade or sell the VDP eventhough it is past 100,000 miles as she loves it. She thinks the car has saved her a few times when her previous American made car would have crashed. So I guess I will have to learn how to fix everyting on it since she wants to keep it forever.
Since I wanted to have spare parts handy for her, I bought really cheap a 2003 XJ8 to have for spare parts in the drive way. Well reading the forum has helped me diagnose a the few major issues it had (electrical, wiring and throttle body mostly) and now I am driving it!!! while my US made car has been in the driveway parked for the last 4 months. I love it, but it still has a few ghosts that I need to deal with.
I intent to share my learnings in the last 3 years. I have also bought the Jaguar option for a specific code reader suggested by some members and it has saved me a lot of guesswork. Looking forward to sharing info. I will try to update later with pictures.

Welcome to the forum JETJO,
Sounds like the VDP has been pretty reliable over the past six years. 100k miles is really only another number and many members here are well beyond that. Check this thread for recent discussion about it:

Great result with the parts car becoming your daily driver. You're going to need a third one for parts now!
No need for me to give you the link to the X308 section as you already know your way around.
Please also visit the Lower Atlantic Region section Lower Atlantic - NC SC FL GA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum for other members and events in your region.
Enjoy the X308's and the forum.

Thank you all for the welcome.
While new at the forum I am not at Jaguars.
Always admired then as a kid and I promised my self one day I woudl own one (never thought I would own 2). Love to do most small jobs on them myself.
Looking forward to help others too.
I will try monitoring the new posts once a week.
