Default New to forum!

Hi all,

I've had my 2000 Jaguar S-type for a little over a year now. The ball joint and part of the axle is now broken, and the dealership has given me a $1,600 quote to fix it. I've called many other mechanics but they've all replied with "we don't touch Jags". Unfortunate, specially for a student like me! I have to be honest... It probably wasn't the best idea to buy a Jag while in school, but you can't put a price on love can you?

Few scratches here and there, big spot of paint has chipped off and the steel is exposed... waiting to get the car back from the dealership to fix that on my own. Some issues with the DCM, but nothing urgent to fix.

Will be browsing and helping out with any questions as much as I can. Should have a great time learning here!

Picture below is my baby... Stella.

Welcome to the forum. I am sure some helpful info will be coming your way. Maybe a post in your area could help you.
Find it odd that a "Mechanic" cannot change a ball joint. Guess that mystical jaguar diamond encrusted joint designed in a secret laboratory scares them off.

Welcome to the forum Dynamite999,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguarforums.

Follow Norri's link to the S-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forum.
