Hi Folks,

I have a 1990 Jaguar XJ40, which has done about 180k. I got it a few years as an MLC present to myself. I love it heaps but there are a few things starting to go wrong so I thought I'd get some help to fix things myself, as I like tinkering with it.

I'll start some Qs soon, once I get myself sorted out and ready to act upon the advice I receive from this forum.

Many thanks
Brian

Welcome to the forum Brian,

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj40-25/ to the XJ40 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Australia / New Zealand Region section by following this link Australia / New Zealand - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your part of the World.

Enjoy the forum.

Brian,

You can edit your Signature and add a SigPig. Follow the procedure I described in post #3.

One of the restrictions on new members is not being able to start a forum 'garage' until having a minimum 3 Days membership AND 10 Posts.

Brian:
Welcome to the forum and to ongoing XJ40 ownership - although I'm not quite sure what "MLC" stands for. I googled it. Martin Luther college? Multi level cell? Sorry, I'm a bit dense... The XJ40 guys will undoubtedly help keep your car going for years to come.

Cheers!
Scott

Thanks for that Jim,
I've been away for a while and just got back.
some of the things I need advice on are :
drivers door latch doesn't work
passengers window electrics jams and doesn't work now and then
rear passenger door centrol locking doesn't work.

I plan on searching tags with these topics as a first step or do you think I should just ask the questions of members ?

Cheers
Brian

Brian,

A search for those three issues will bring plenty of results.

Using Google with 'Jaguar Forums + ' as the first part of the search string is the easiest way to find relevant Jaguar Forums threads:

(click on the image to enlarge it)

In this example, I've used 'Jaguar Forums + jaguar XJ40 + drivers door latch' and the top 2 results are Jaguar Forums links.
