Smile New to Forum, Not to Jags

Hello All! i just picked up a 2002 X-type 2.5 premium package last week from a private seller. hoping to keep it going for a few more years!

this is my third jaguar now; i had a 2000 jaguar S-type 4.0 in Mistral Blue I leased new, then came out of the least early, and purchased a 02 XJ Sport in Xircon Blue w/ black interior. After 5 years I gave up on the car @ 86k miles after 3 time chain pretensioner failures and multiple other problems. Traded it for a lease on a mercedes E500 in 2007 (as i work for a chrysler dealership and got the mb discount just before diamler & chryser split) Had nothing but trouble from day ONE in the mercedes. very glad its gone!

my X-type is a higher mileage unit, just passing 124,000, and i have all the service records since new. it was a one owner vehicle.
Anyways, Hoping you guys will be able to help me out as i need it!

Thanks!

Hey there, welcome aboard the forum, good to have you here and hope we can help.

Lovin the X type, had an 02 2.5 Sport myself some time ago. Please check out the X type quick FAQ link thread for many posts on problems / fixes for the X, expecially the early years.

There's usually plenty going on in most sections, most of the time. The S typers will welcome you I'm sure.....so get in there!

You might find the off topic good for fun, maybe check out the mug shot thread and add yours?
Don't forget the regional section and also the detailing section is a must.

Some good guys and great techs, top vendors and more to come....all good

In the meantime I've upgraded you manually to full forum access so you can better view the site
