New to forum. Working on XJR
Hi everyone. I got a 1998 XJR and it has some issues so I'm working on them slowly but surely. Looking forward to utilizing this great forum and the resources here!
The list of must fix:
- Headliner sagging really bad. (FIXED, see below)
- Paint was dull with some pretty bad oxidation spots. (FIXED, see below)
- Rear interior brake light fell off window. (Fixed)
- Gas cap area flooded with rain water. (FIXED, see below)
- Driver's seat has a broken hinge/bracket in the back left. (Looking for part and how to fix!)
- Rear view mirror glass has turned black. (Looking for a new part)
- Steering wheel wood is all cracked/chipped. (Looking for a new part)
The Car:

Here's what I've tackled so far:
Headliner, fixed:

Fixed the non-draining gas cap area:

Fixed the paint job:

BEFORE:

AFTER:

After I got that oxidized ring out of the trunk, I moved on and treated the entire car. Looks a lot cleaner, newer, shinier, and sparkling wet!
Door dings and scuffs to get out:

Roof had bad oxidation spots and dull paint:

Oxidation removed and paint correction process:

Looking much better:

Anyway, I like taking pictures so I have tons of them of every single step I take, so I'm sorry if that bored you.
But please, if anyone has input and comments, I appreciate it. Thanks so much!!!

I tried to edit my post just now, as I noticed one of the pictures won't load... but I can't seem to find the edit button...
Oh well, I can move pictures in the photo album to make it work.
Thanks again!

Hi Everyone,
My name is Jane, and I live in Pal,m Desert, CA. I purchased my 2002 S-type Jaguar with 36,000 in 2005, before moving to the desert, for my then 3 Standard Poodles, because they deserve to ride in style. Knock wood the car rides great, and the only problem is a CD changer that keeps crashing. I've posted a note in the S-type section asking for help fixing the changer. I can't find any help here in the desert, and one would think =with all the Jags in the area help would be easy to find. Not.
Well that's my intro to this forum. Btw ... I purchased the S-type Jag because of the "bumble bee" grill and styling. It reminded me of the old D Jag.

Welcome to the forum tkc looks like you are pretty handy when it comes to your cars.
Sagging headlining would have been an understatement.
I have to ask, that looks like a pretty meaty BM in the background or am I way out?
