Smile Hi from Florida!

Long time listener, first time caller... I fell for a 1998 Jaguar XJR which I purchased from my mechanic with only 145k miles on it at the time... She's taken some work- a new rear suspension, eliminated a leak or two, tints, new tires... until my girlfriend 'dinged' her into the back of another car... which led to what I believed at the time to be a super high quote from a body shop, which led to an eventual purchase of a 'parts car'- the black 98 xjr with a hood scoop on the hood. This front end and hood was switched with the busted front end and hood... which has been quite a ride to say the least. I'll continue to cruise you all's helpful hints and tricks- dynamite to say the least. Coming up on my vehicle will be the following: replacing the tweeter in the right front pillar, patching the '6x9' in the back... painting the hood from black to blue after removing the hood scoop, and getting better darn gas milage- which dropped from 13.5 mpg to 10.2 mpg after we replaced the air hose assembly that attaches to the MAF sensor... Soooo I'll have some questions (and spare XJR parts). Judging by cruising this forum- y'all are a lot better at this than me. Cheers!

Welcome to the forum CaneCounsel007,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the USA Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

This is the second time this week I've read about someone's girlfriend "dinging" up a Jaguar. I'm sorry to read about this again.

You're right though, members in the XJR section would probably know what to do.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
