Hi,
I was (and to be honest still am) an enthusiast of Ford Scorpio '95. I owned one of the last cars, a fully equipped 2.3l Auto Saloon Ultima (Ghia in Germany) in Panther Black from 1998 for 10 years. But some months ago MOT tester (German TÜV) thought, it would not be a good idea to keep it on the road because of rust on the rear frame.

Since Ford discontinued the Scorpio in Europe without an adequate upper middle classs successor, the Scorpio '95 scene discussed a replacement for a reasonable price. A lot of members think that the Jaguar S-type is the closest replacement. After some investigations, I do think this too. So I looked again for a car being built as one of the latest of its type and being fully equipped. My family and me would make 20TKm/per year. Therefore and because the majority of the Final Editions was delivered to Germany as Diesel I searched for one and found a silver 2.7D Auto SE of 2008 with 72TKm on the clock with black interior. Seeing the steering wheel, I instantaneously became infected, because it looks so similar to the one on my Scorp.

The car was maintained regularly. However, after two weeks the right Xenon failed. Although my profession is somehow brainworking, I do not have two left hands and gained some repair experience with my previous car and both Ford KAs of my daughters. So with help of forums and the last JTIS edition I finally was successful in reparing the Xenon lamp.

I also collected some knowledge on OBD-2 and motor control and own a Reader. Off course I already interrogated the Jag and found no errors.

I will not post very much. Mainly because I am not a friend of putting opinions online, but facts. So, if I can, I will provide help. However, it may happen that I have questions myself. Then I would like to ask the forum for support.

Regards
Armin

P.S.: Please excuse, if my English is poor.

Welcome to the forum Armin. Nice to have you here. Thanks for the introduction.

The subforum for the S-Type has a lot of useful information about your car S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

And we have a Regional section for Europe Europe - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

You will do well with the diesel S-Type. A friend of mine in Germany had one, he drove it all across Europe & in the end it had 400'000kms on it when he finally sold it to buy a diesel XJ.
