Default New Girl Introduction

Hi! Thank you already to all--I've already found great information lurking here the last two days since my beloved 2004 X Type Sport 3.0 AWD has developed an all too common oil leak of her own. I love my car, but don't know much about cars in general, so I'll apologize that I'll be more of a consumer of information (at least at first until I gain some ground--ever the optimist). My skill set right now is limited to replacing bent wheels . It seems the world is my pothole.

I have had my X Type since 2007 and have had excellent luck (other than the wheels). Now seems the time to learn more. What I've gathered so far is that I should not rush her to the dealership based on similar leaks described and that if it is the oil pan a lot of stuff has to come out of my car in order to do an expensive fix.

I'm a teacher in the Minneapolis area. I'm originally from Connecticut.

Thanks for running such a helpful forum!

First, welcome to the forum! Second, we've now been forced to give you a nickname, because typing phrases like "Type A Girl with an X Type I think you should look here" or "Great storey Type A Girl with an X Type".

so, what should it be...keep it short and call you 'Type A', ala Rated R, recently departed from the Bachelor Pad show, or maybe TAG, short for Type A Girl...we'll see what sticks I suppose.

Enjoy the forums, it sounds like you not only have the patience, but the willingness to learn about your car's unique...shall we say, trouble areas. lol.

Oh yah, my aunt Viv lives up in Minneapolis, please tell her I said hello, and that I'm sorry I missed her birthday on Monday, but sent a belated one on her FB page...appreciate that assist TAG!

Hi there Agirl and welcome aboard, great to have you here with us

Lovin the X type, had one myself a few years ago and the AWD is just awesome. The X typers will welcome you with open arms, loads of great info there and arguably one of the best sections on the site with some really knowledgable guys.

In the meantime I've upgraded you to full forum access so you can better view all the sites features

Welcome indeed,

I' ve been to Minnapolis once (a long time ago) in the early spring. Nice town, though a bit on the cold side. Layed over for a day or so on my way to Duluth (even colder) for a conference.

Again, welcome to the forums. The guys here a pretty passionate about their cars and will be more than happy to help out whenever they can.

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com.

If you haven’t already you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for. To do this go to, User CP, Edit Signature, Add Vehicle Details and such and Save Your Signature.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Also, should you have questions related to your vehicle please post it in the section for your model year (MY) car. This way you will reach all the members that are familiar with your MY car.
