Default New Guy

HI. I just bought an 881/2 XJ 6 and will be redoing the seats and headliner and carpets. I have a friend who does the painting. In about 4 months I will post a picture of the results of our labors. I do have one mystery. The car had been sitting for a spell and when I put a battery in and turned on the ignition all the dashboard lit up telling me nothing works when I know it does! What to do?

Welcome !
You can also post your issue on General Tech Section . Anyway , those earlier XJ40s carry some quirks and weird culpirits .
For instance, there was a dash warning saying "washer fluid low" .The funny thing was it was full !
I think the unit releated to the vehicle condition might be shot as well

I saw you posted this in the XJ40 forum already so I'll keep this just for welcomes. Welcome and I hope you enjoy the forum. BTW, please don't take what Jack Rabbit said seriously. Let us know if you find out what the problem is. Enjoy!
