Default New here

I am thrilled to be here, and look forward to a nice long stay. I am active in the Subaru & Corvair lists. I'm not new to Jaguars- but I have none right now. I learned to drive in a 1973 VDP. I still think the XJ-6C is the second sexiest machine ever built (honorable loss to the 63 E-Type). I drove an XJ-S to my first real job interview. So after over a decade of driving a fire breathing WRX, and eclipsing 40, and getting promoted... I need to settle into something other than a spartan performer. It sounds insane (I know) but I am looking at X-Types and XJ-8R.

Thanks for having me!

That's quite a list! I'm intrigued by the Corvair.

Default The Corvair

This machine is amazing from so many angles. Independent suspension all the way around, rear engine, air cooled, 6cyl, turbo (after a hard run it glows orange)... That Detroit dedicated 10 years to these is astounding. Right now I'm rebuilding- new balanced crank, NOS TRW forged pistons, light flywheel+ heavy clutch... Was my daily driver until Rex showed up. The one time it ever left me stranded was the one time I had two flat tires at the same time. Otherwise the car was rock solid from 1963 through 2004.

Default Welcome to Jaguar Forums

Welcome n00n3r ... and greetings from fellow enthusiasts in Australia.

As a 35 year plus owner and lover of the glorious '64 Series1 4.2L FHC E-Type, I had best not debate you relegating it to runner up ... although the cream XJ-C we had many years ago had all the looks and muscle ... The S2 V12 Daimler VanDen Plas had all the grace and refinement ... sheer luxury. You sound like you are teetering on the edge of another Jaguar ... go ahead; make YOUR day!

I also encourage you, as per Norri's posted links, to visit the regional section shared by other members in your area ... and add your car details to your signature as a permanent flag to enable other members to offer accurate advice ... from Main Menu, click <User CP> then <Edit Signature>.

All that remains is to dive into the forum ... and enjoy!

Best wishes,
Ken
