Glad to have found this site. I live in the four corners and have a 1988 black XJS. Overall it runs well and of course needs some work. Hope I don't become too much of a pest with questions. I've done minor fixes over the years and want to get the car to where I should be and I want it to be.

The first thing I want to address is a gas smell inside the car and especially in the trunk. I've been told it could be the fuel filter, hoses, gas cap, and a lot of things over the years. Lately it has gotten worse (cold weather?). Any ideas or directions to take.

I love this car. I bought it for around $6800 seven years ago, and it's probably the best purchase of anything I have ever done.
