Just inherited a 1999 xk8 4 Litre from my father in law. It has 97893 miles on it, not a perfect car but a good used car. I had helped him with some simple repairs and I thought it was a nice car to drive.
I'm in so-cal so the convertible top needs to work, I am troubleshooting now and will use the search feature to hopefully find the answers.

Perfect car for SoCal, as it was your FILs I assume the know the history re tensioners etc?

 

Wow, looks like the convertible top is a common problem. So far I found that the top raised switch isn't closing. Can that be replaced or do I have to replace the whole right side hydraulic cylinder?
