Default New to Jag and this forum

Hi there folks, My name is Chris McLauchlan.

I live in Scumdee, sorry Dundee on the east coast of Scotland. I have just picked up what is new to me today. It is a 2002 Jaguar S type Auto.

Not sure what model it is quite yet. But I am sure I will figure it out very shortly. I usually like big bold cars. Tend to have stuck to 5 series BMW's.

This is my first Jag and I have to say I think I have been missing out. The Jag is sooooooo smooth to drive it is almost sex like.

Only down side is it doesn't have Leather interior. That will get rectified though. Have managed to pick it up for a steal price I think (£2K 102 k on the clock).

This one has sooo many bits of paperwork from Jag dealers for stuff having been done it is unreal (not sure if that is a good or bad thing yet).

I think I will have this one for a good few years to come. I will upload photos when I have had the chance to take them during daylight.

So that is what I know about mine so far. Granted have only had it a few hours. Time to get researching them I think.

Any questions or stuff let me know. I am always up for helping.

Welcome to the forum Chris,

Good to have you with us.
Check out the S Type section S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum and the UK regional section UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
Do you know if you have the pre or post facelift model? It changed in late 2002 in the UK easiest way to check is do you have a 5 or 6 speed box. (unless it's manual :-))
Enjoy the forum.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome to the forum Chris,

Masses of Dealer paperwork on a Jaguar is always a good thing. It's gaps in the history should make you nervous.

Follow Norri's link to the S-Type section for help and advice.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

I think it is pre facelift. It has 2,3,4,5 on the left side of the Auto shifter. There is a tonne of Dealer paperwork. Right from new. Looks like it went to spain though. Jag dealer paperwork from spain is there. There is a full service history in the book and paperwork to match. It is funny you should say that GGG as I think I may have broken something. Post to follow. Don't car though. Still love it. lol.

Ouch! Just been reading about your Key Fob mishap in S-Type section. You should get help from the members there.
