New Jag owner.
Hey, wassup, new Jaaaaaagg guy here. Just got my first Jag ever two days ago.

<3
She's a 2001 XJ8 L with 67k miles on the clock. Far as I can tell, she's in perfect condition. Bought from CarMax. Got a 125,000 mile warranty on it anyway.
I should note that this Jag is the first car I've ever bought. My last car was a hand-me-down lease from the parents (I'm 19, I should point out.
). So I'm incredibly lucky to have such a thing.
I am, however, suffering from MASSIVE buyer's remorse. This was kinda amplified this morning by spending $7.70 on a tenth of a tank of fuel, so I can already see fill-ups will be painful here in LA. (Good thing my employer gives me mileage allowance. $0.50 a mile.) The only thing stopping me from driving this beauty straight back to the dealership and swapping it for a Prius is the feeling that if I let it go, I'll never experience heaven like it again.
So anyway, what do I need to keep my eyes out for? And how often should I have it serviced?

After drilving a Jag, I am not sure how you can even say Prius without gagging. We have on at my work and I hate it. Just remember you can drive your Jag for years and not put out the pollution that it took to make that Prius.
Welcome to the forum, wow an Admiral at 19 not to mention a 2001 XJ8, as you say you are very lucky.
For fuel, think about us poor unfortunates, a zero to fill in my XJ40 would cost approx $200!!!

Welcome aboard Admiral,
Just imagine that you will be cruising in your Jag rather than practically paddling in the Prius.

A very, very, nice car, and with fuel so cheap in the USA. In the UK where I live, a 19 year old would never, ever, get insurance for a car like that, apart from paying a small fortune for petrol (gas), like $ 1.90 a litre.
Get the Prius in a few years time; if you will still want it then, that is.
