Default New Jag Owner in Athens, GA

I've been a closet Jag admirer for years and finally decided I wasn't getting any younger, so I bought a little bit a of a project car. Actually the car itself appears to be in excellent mechanical condition based on records. The work will be in the cosmetics and the power top. Thats where I need help here. Thanks in advance.

Default Help for a blog dummy please.

So I see we are to have 10 posts before we can become full fledged members. I'm just not sure what I am suppose to post about until I am able to interact with others. Maybe someone could clarify this for me. I am sure no one wishes to read a bunch of ramblings by this newbe.

Welcome to the forum Letmyhairfly,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

(I've merged you two separate Intro threads into one. You don't lose any from your post count.)

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

I do quite a lot of rambling myself so it could be a welcome relief for many to read someone else's ramblings for a change.

Intro forum is just for newbies to tell everyone something about themselves and their vehicle and to get 'welcomes' from other members. Many more will read threads here than post replies but you can see from this screen shot of your Intro that 69 members have viewed is already (see number circled in blue):

So far, mine are the only two replies (circled in red) but others will be along later.

The main activity relevant to your vehicle is going to be in the XK8/XKR tech section ( XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum ). You could start a new thread there describing the condition of your XK8 and cosmetics required with photos. We all like looking at pictures of Jaguars! An existing thread ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...photos-106114/ ) shows many XK8/XKR's and gets a lot of interest if you care to post pictures there.

In your Intro, you also mentioned issues with the power top. There are many threads in XK8/XKR tech section about these. You could start a new thread describing your specific issues or post in any of the existing ones covering similar issues.

Not many forum newbies, especially those also new to Jaguar, can jump straight in with technical contributions but we're all here to help each other. Likewise, no one becomes a Jaguar expert overnight. Never be concerned that an issue could be too small to ask about.

If your XK8 is running perfectly and there's no problems to raise, then a post about an enjoyable drive is always a good read.

Graham
