Default new to Jags

Hello everyone, my name is Mike. Putting in a post to get my "internet legitimacy" going here.

I've never owned a Jaguar, but I've always wanted to. I'd list all the cars I like, but there's only maybe 2-4 that I don't, so I'll save you some reading. I'm hoping to get a car sometime this year. If not, I'd still like to learn a good bit about these cars. I've got a truck and a couple cars to sell off before I can afford something else.

I'm looking for either a X-type or S-type. Prices aren't ridiculous, and I like the looks of them (more so the X-type, but I'm not a fan of FWDs either). I will be somewhat picky on two things: color and transmission. I don't like driving automatics, and I'd prefer black or a dark green. AWD would be great, but I'm not sure yet if that's available with a manual transmission. I've got some reading to do.

Thanks. I'll pop in those forums here in a bit. Still reading up on these cars so I can ask some productive questions.

Welcome, and yes check out the regional thread, there are a few meets happening soon, although you being in south FL it might be a bit far...and, you don't have your Jag yet. btw, finding a manual S type is VERY hard, but finding a manual X is easier, and they are still awd, all S's are rwd. The awd is I believe 40% to the front and 60 to the rear, so they don't handle like a FWD car, I was worried about this as I don't care for fwd much either. Good luck finding one, find the right one and you will be very
happy with it

Thanks guys. I'm going to take my time looking for the right one, even if it takes a while. It's a second vehicle so I don't need to rush into a car I won't be completely happy with.

Thanks Jim!

Some personal garbage has come up, so money will be tight for a while. I'll stick around and contribute what I can. I'll eventually get a Jag... someday.
