Hello Fellow Jag Owners. I bought my first Jaguar few months ago, 2002 Jaguar X-type 2.5L had 98,500 miles, had a couple issues that I was made aware of when looking at it. First was the battery light stayed on constantly, I easily figured that out, previous owner put in a underpowered (100Amp) Alternator, I bought new 120Amp Alt fixed that. I have had random/Multiple Misfires since buying. But here is my main problem and has been for over a week. Out of no where I come out of Menards, start my Jag and all of a sudden I have no temp gauge, no rpm gauge, check engine light on, abs light on, red exclamation point, battery light on, and I believe it may be in limp mode. After debating for 30 mins I chanced driving it home, I was about 30 min from home, it made it home. I pull the codes and get P0447 Powertrain Evap Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit Open, P1000, P1642 Powertrain, P1647 Powertrain, P1699 Powertrain. I can hit clear codes does nothing all lights stay on and same gauges don't work. I have cleaned the main grounds from battery and go engine block, replaced battery to no avail. I am new to these cars I will admit and apologize if this was already a post at some point, I have literally searched this site for a hour. Any help will be much appreciated! The car only has 104,000 miles at this point. Thanks in advance for any help!

OOPS.

Since this is NOT the Tech Section, I will only say one thing.

Battery may need a good overnight charge, alternators rarely "charge" a battery, they basically maintain them. Very common for all those code and limp with a a down battery.

the X Type (X400) Tech Section will have more suggestions.

Battery leads are a regular issue with the X-Type. The multi-strand cables can start to break up at the crimped terminals then causing all kinds of weird electrical issues. Before you begin investigating more complex (and expensive) possible causes, you should check and eliminate the battery and ground connections.

First off, I do apologize for showing my true newness in the forum and threading in complete wrong spot, again my apologies. As for the battery cables/terminals I did remove the main ground(s), clean the bolts, nuts, and connections with a dremel and wire wheel, I also did the same to the main ground on the block as well. I didn't really mess with the (+) wire, connection, or terminal, simply cleaned it up real quick. Hopefully I get this figured out soon, I really love this care, thankfully I am fortunate enough to have several cars and a Motorcycle so it didn't put me in to much of a hard spot, but nonetheless this is my favorite car I own and I love driving it .
