Default New Jaguar XKR Owner - What Should I Look For?

Hello,

Just purchased a 2003 XKR with 93k miles. Owned many other cars in the past, but this is my first Jaguar experiance! What should I look for, from a mechanical stand point? I guess, engine and drive train first. Later, interior things, I have heard that the rear window regulators fail often. Any advice for this Jaguar newbie would be helpful and appreciated!

Thanks,

Phillip

Welcome to the forum Phillip,

Follow Norri's link to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the forums, Phillip.

You will find a lot of helpful folks here.

Just to get you started, your 2003 pretty much had most of the engine/drive train issues sorted out. If yours if a rag top, I think you still need to check the convertible top hoses or fit one of the pressure lowering devices you will see discussed here.

That is the year everyone wants due to the beautiful body lines and good mechanical nature of the car.

Congrats, all things being equal you probably got a pretty good Jag there.

Welcome to the forum Phillip.

What can I add, burns on the roof would generally not be a good sign.

Congrat's on the XKR.

Good to see you.
