New joiner
Greetings to all you ladies and gentlemen. Since I sat in and motored in my neighbors white,1959 Mark lX, I've had a life-long desire to own a Jaguar. As of Friday July 7, 2023 I've fulfilled that dream by purchasing a platinum 2003 XJR with R-1 package. I've not even completed the licensing and registration process, so I've yet to experience anything other than a local drive around my southern California neighborhood. I am eagerly anticipating future open-road journeys with my wife and family. I've been reading various forum threads for over a year, and now as a bona fide Jag owner, I look forward to participating in discussions and sharing experiences with others. I've been refreshed by the true spirit of generosity that is often displayed by forum members as they share their wisdom with other enthusiasts, and when needed, offer advice in conquering the problems which may arise during the course of Jaguar ownership. I have limited mechanical skills and experience, but did grow up in a household of engineers and auto enthusiasts, so I picked up a few things by osmosis (hey, I removed and rebuilt my '63 VW engine all by myself!). I say, "bravo" to you all. I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Cheers.
