Default New and Loving the Advice

Just purchased my first Jag last weekend; 2003 S-Type 4.2 Sport. Owned many new cars, first real used car since I was young, and best car purchase so far. Love this thing! Hoping it holds up with 83,000 miles.

Welcome to the forum!

Glad you're lovin' your S-Type. There's a plethora of knowledge down there! Hope to see you around... maybe you'll upgrade to an XK sooner or later?

Enjoy!

Finally discovered that my Jag has been perfectly maintained during its 73,000 miles with all services plus done on it from previous owner. Very happy. Just replaced rear pads, because fronts were recently replaced only, just to find plenty of meat on the rear pads...oh well...bleeding fluid tomorrow...Belt replacement on Sunday...just to be safe...

Ah an AJ36 engined S type. Best of the S types, when the X202 (original was X200) came of age. Aluminium bonnet, Jaguar ditched the P Tec Engine management system for the Denso system (more robust) and the suspension tuning was improved. In addition the 4.2 litre front entry AJ36 engine is as bullet proof as an old AJ16! The automatic gearbox was also upgraded to the ZF type. Congratulations on a fine purchase of an under rated car!
