Default New (to me) XK8 and hope its downhill from here

just took delivery of a 2005 xk8. has some problems, which I knew about and were reflected in price. 1st problem was error "limiter not available", which give the error code of the left rear wheel speed sensor. So I went to take the wheels off to look at sensor- the lug nuts were on really tight. So tight I actually broke the lug wrench that came with the car. Hope this is not a forecast of things to come

Welcome to the forum sailorbill,

Congratulations on the the 2005 XK8 - what a splendid choice.

It's a good plan to remove all the wheels with a more substantial wrench than the one in the vehicle toolkit and refit them to the correct torque.

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. If you're new to this model, the 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the US North East Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/north-east-us-me-nh-vt-ma-ri-ct-nj-ny-pa-35/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the forum Sailorbill,
When you do get the wheel off, use the correct torque for the nuts having first cleaned and greased with copperslip before you refit.

Apart from that, have a great time with your car and within this forum. There is always helpful friendly people here if you get stuck.
