New Member with a '02 XJ8
Hello from Colorado, My name is Doug. Just got a '02 XJ8. Found this thing on eBay, It's only got 21,000 miles on it. My wife and I Flew to Albuquerque, NM and drove it back. This Jag will replace my wife's '95 XJ6 with 111,000 miles. Nothing wrong with the '95 but could not resist a 2002 with 21,000 miles. Looks showroom fresh, even underneath the car (they don't get too much snow in Albuquerque).
Anyway, I just spent a day changing the oil and filter, antifreeze, and had Brakes Plus change the brake fluid. Thats the first time I ever had someone else do that job. But for $40,00 It was worth it. Put myself thru highschool, 2 years college and 2 years art school working on cars and have never quit. But now I only work on my own. Have A 64-1/2 Mustang convertable with a 260 V8 that I restored and my daily driver is a '85 El Camino 305 V8 with a color matched topper. ! love this car/truck, it works well to transport my paintings to galleries and haul my golf clubs and caddie cart, very handy vehicle.
Could not find anything in search on changing antifreeze on the '02 Jag so I will be asking a question in the XJ8 forum.
One observation, the '02 Jag had new Pirelli Z rated tires on it, same as the ones that came on the car. Looks like you can go really fast on these tires but not very far. LOL Doug

Hi Doug n welcome to the forum mate. Sounds like you got yourself a nice car there mate. Get some pics of it / them posted up and let us all have a look.

Hey Doug, welcome to the forum mate. BTW, those might just be the original tires on it. If in 5 years, they've put a little over 20K miles on it, I doubt whoever the owner was, has done much spirited driving.

Don't know how fast a 290 HP XJ8 will go, but I don't plan on testing it. LOL Anyway I will not be buying any Z rated tires myself. I think the Jaguars get along just fine with quality all-season touring tires unless your trying for the sound barrier.....Doug
I'd go with some Bridgestone Potenza's all season tires. Not Z rated, so they'll last, and they grip very well in the rain.
