Hey Folks,

I've just bought a 03 X-type 3.0 with 61k on her and thought I'd introduce myself.

She looks in reasonable shape with a couple of niggling issues:
1) a low noise (duh duh duh...) when I'm pulling to a stop - wheel bearing or CV? Doesn't seem to have dependance on steering input.
2) Only one speaker works - looks like it has the premium sound, but no amplifier in trunk/boot
3) Drivers seat rear raise/lower broken - took seat out and found mashed gear wheel as others have reported
4) Rear right caliper intermittent binding - reconditioned caliper sitting in my garage ready for the weekend.
5) All fluids need changed.

I'll open threads in the respective areas when/if I need help and report any interesting things I uncover.

Cheers

Campfire

Thought I'd give folks an update of where I am with these issues

She looks in reasonable shape with a couple of niggling issues:
1) a low noise (duh duh duh...) when I'm pulling to a stop - wheel bearing or CV? Doesn't seem to have dependance on steering input. Still fighting this one . See my recent post https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uzzler-107144/
2) Only one speaker works - looks like it has the premium sound, but no amplifier in trunk/boot The 03 didn't come with an aftermarket amp for the mid range. Popped the door cards and the speakers are blown. Will replace with something nice
3) Drivers seat rear raise/lower broken - took seat out and found mashed gear wheel as others have reported Low on priority list
4) Rear right caliper intermittent binding - reconditioned caliper sitting in my garage ready for the weekend. Installed and fixed
5) All fluids need changed. Done

6) Both rear ABS tone rings corroded, replaced outer CV and fixed

Cheers

Good to see you've got the important brake caliper done and the fluids changed.

I see there's no replies to your Low speed noise puzzler thread yet but I'm sure the model experts will be along with advice.
