Talking new member

hello all you fellow jag enthusiasts, i am new here and have been looking around and really like the advice and troubleshooting threads. Ill start off by saying i am from Glencoe, Minnesota. and it is cold as can be this am.

Anyway i recently purchased a 2002 X type, and fell in love with it almost immediatly.

From the start I was in the market to get a new vehicle, and i was not even considering a jag. And a relative of mine works for a surrounding city, and said they have a car in impound that I should come check out, so i asked him what kind of car is it?

he said it was a Jaguar right away i thought i cant afford a jag and asked him what model jag but he wasnt sure, and i asked him how much and he wasnt sure on that either.

The next day he called me and told me how much they were looking to get out of it. I couldnt believe it $2500, i quickly asked what is wrong with it. He said nothing that he knew of, so the following day i went to check it out.

upon first look i loved it Its a dark green and 19" wheels with lo profile wheels. and we took it out for a cruise, a 2.5 , 5spd manual. And it has plenty of pep. so upon further inspection realized the odometer was not working and here to find out while it was in impound a mouse got under the hood and chewed through a few of the wires. And the drivers side mirror housing was all broke, the rear dr. side window switch is broke, and the engine light was on, we put a scanner on it and it said something about faulty wiring.

So aftertalking it over with the wife we decided to take a chance and get it.(what do you buy for 2500) Getting it home i picked up a new mirror andhousing that matched perfectly off of ebay. got the wires all soldered together again and woo hoo 139xxx miles and light went off and noticed the cruise control worked now.

Anyway ill be in touch sorry no pics yet
