Just a note to introduce myself; I live in Covington Louisiana (near New Orleans) and just recently purchased a 2006 S-Type 3.0 for my wife. She's always liked jaguars but I thought they were out of my league, until I out looking for a used car for my daughter and stumbled upon this car with 79,230 miles, very clean condition with a burned up engine.

It had been towed to a charity's used car lot (straight from the Jaguar dealer). Jaguar quoted the original owner $14,000 to repair and the owner donated it to the charity rather than invest that many $$$.

I bought it (took a chance on a whim), had a shop put in a used engine (27,000 mi.), radiator (that's why it burned up), waterpump, spark plugs, new hoses, & belt. I was going to replace the engine myself but went with the shop for time savings and I was able to surprise my wife with a clean, running!, Jaguar (and her reaction was well worth the extra cost of using the shop).

Now I will be doing all the maintenance and repairs going forward. I've owned and worked on many cars through the years but this is my first brush with a Jaguar.

I will post a picture and put the Jaguar in my signature, just as soon as I figure out how to do that.
