Hi,
My name is Craig and I have finally become the owner of a Jaguar since lusting after the XKE (the sexiest car ever!) when it came out in 1963. Unfortunately, I cannot afford both an XKE and a divorce, so our garage now includes a 1998 XK8 convertible (Topaz/Oatmeal) with 85,000 miles. It has the usual problems which I hope to get help with correcting on this forum--front suspension and brakes currently. I have been studying the threads for suspension and have a pretty good handle on how to do the repairs, but don't know how far to go in replacing parts--springs, shocks? I just completed ball joint replacement on my 1966 Charger and I have a 2-post lift, so am able to do the job myself, thank heavens, as the local shop quoted $2200 just for the ball joints! Needless to say, I will be posting many questions in the near future and look forward to more of the expert advice that I have witnessed while studying past posts. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum Craig,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
The urgency depends on how recently any suspension and brake overhaul work has been completed. It all takes time and even DIY, not an inconsiderable amount of money. I'd categorise into 'must do' / 'nice to have' and work through the list as time, energy and funds permit. You will find a great improvement in ride and handling with new suspension bushes and shocks all round but brakes should always be the priority.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
