Hi everyone,
I just signed up to join this forum. I live in Germany and the XK8 is a re-import from Florida so I guess it took some time for it to get used to our weather. There have been a few minor issues with the car and the reason I have now joined this forum is because I have found very helpful advice about sorting out these problems and thought I might also contribute in some way also. The car is a joy to drive and you juts have to accept that "The Countess" (as my wife calls the car) can sometimes be rather moody and demands instant attention (not my wife, the car)

Hello, Redan,
It's a little accepted fact that Jaguars are as close to a Living Thing as a machine can be. Hence the "moodiness."
It's good your wife has named the car. It will be easier for her (your wife) to accept all the attention she (the car) demands/commands that way.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
