I have a 1997 XK8 British Racing Green convertible with 45K miles. I live in Creve Couer, Missouri, USA. I bought the car in December and it's been sitting in my garage since then. It had a lot of problems that I'm fixing. I've replaced the tires and shocks and changed the transmission fluid (drained n refilled the pan ). I did drive it a couple of miles to mix up the trans fluid. This week I drained the trans again and dropped the pan. I need to replace the 4th gear ( or is it # 4 ) solenoid in the transmission because it is in Limp Home Mode , only uses 4th gear. While installing the shocks I noticed there are no wires going to the speed sensors ( ABS light is ON ) . I can't wait to get this XK on the street.

Welcome to the forums Mel,

Good to have you with us.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region

I've added vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. If you want to change these, go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Mel,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
Isn't it Fascinating the poor condition some allow their cars to reach? When I bought my Jag, Everything I touched needed attention.

Best way to Bond with your car IMO.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
