Joined in 2018 and now finally posting. I live in a small town about an hour NE of Minneapolis. Retired now, so have plenty of time to work on my cars. Unfortunately, the winters here really put a crimp into my love of tinkering with cars. Currently, I have 3 cars, a 1959 Chevy Biscayne, 1982 Porsche 928, and the 2001 Jag XK8 droptop. You might have noticed, I like V8's. My wife and I picked up the XK8 for date nights after we had to sell the motorcycles because of arthritis. We just love cruising with that top down. I am not sure if it is typical of Jag's to be so clean. I have a four post lift, so can really get under them for work. I have never seen a 20 year old car this clean. Not only is there zero rust, I really mean ZERO, but there is nothing dirty. And no, it wasn't power washed, as there is absolutely no streaking anywhere from water. It's like it's never been wet. The only tinkering I want to do with it, is maybe give it a little more sound. You know, let it roar once in a while. It runs great, can't wait to get it out of storage.
Hello, Steve,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
It's entirely possible the Previous Owner took excellent care of the car, and so never let it get wet.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
