Hi,

I just acquired my first Jaguar, a British Racing Green 2002 X-Type, last month. I had been wanting a Jaguar since 1960, when I first rode in a XK-120. According to the previous owner, supported by the odometer and CarFax, the car had less than 30K miles on it when I bought it. I'm skeptical, but it could be true. Anyway, so far I have changed the transmission fluid and replaced the battery. This weekend I hope to change both headlight assemblies because the adjusters don't work and I have to drive with the fog lights on in order to see the road. While I have it apart, I plan to convert the headlights to HID's.
Regarding my nickname - the Jaguar Knights were an elite warrior class in Aztec society (I don't know how they were called in Nahuatl). I expect that I will have my share of fights with the X-Type, so it will be kind of an on-going war. But the car is the best-handling vehicle I have ever owned, and probably the fastest too (only I don't drive that fast any more, so I will probably never know for sure).

Welcome to the forum JaguarKnight, you will find quite a bit of info about your lights over in the X Type section.

Knight, welcome to the forums. I am north of you in Maryland. So, if you ever need any help, let me know. I lived down in Norfolk for 3.5 years (near the Joint Forces Facility). There are a few members from here down in your area. You will have a lot of fun with the car. It isn't as bad as you think when it comes to repairing these cars. They are much more reliable than you think and as long as you are not being abusive to them, they will give you very few problems.

If you ever have any problems, let me know. I'm sure we can get you back to 100% in no time.

Welcome JK, I hear you on the handling of the X. When it seems safe I hit corners pretty hard and accelerate, have yet to get my X to do anything but grip and pull me right thru the turns!

Fun car, enjoy.
