Hi just want to introduce myself as a new member - living in Houston had the 07 XKR for a couple of years and love it - Just passed 35,000 miles and going strong - some neanderthal took the "bezel" off the emergency key area of the drivers door and that is going to be a pain to replace with colour but I will! My worry is if they were taking that off to try and steal the car - no damage in the area so hope not - anyone got any ideas on this welcome.

Other than that - we recently put just over 3000 miles on the car with a road trip to Vegas - just over 1500 miles each way - successfully navigated without a ticket even though I managed to open up behind some brave soul that put us around 130-140 for about an hour - really sweet !

Hope I put this in the right place!

Regards

Hi Steve, I also have just joined the Forum, but unlike you, I have just purchased my 1999 XJ8 VDP. As you are a reasonably seasoned owner of a Houston Jag, I would be interested in who services your car in the Houston area, as I am a bit of a perfectionist ,and have a couple of problems I need to resolve. My main problem is with the key fob not activating the drivers door lock, just the drivers door, the others are O.K. From the Forum info, I think I have deduced that it is the Door Control Module.
Hope to meet up with you in the near future. I think the Houston Jag club have a meet at the "Black Labrador Pub" once a month, and hope to attand, when my schedule will allow. Se Ya!!

Default Thanks For The Welcome

Thanks good people - For Brutal - I get the XKR looked after by Lucas Autos, Grant Road Houston which is out by Cyprus area - came across them by reputation and write ups in several forums - Have had no hassle with the car other than regular service and a battery issue - they identified the battery installed was not a Jag recommended type - changed it - got the lifetime warranty and have had no issues with it - I did get a scrape on the front that they could have gone over the top and re-painted but got good advice to allow them to rub it out and that really worked - saved a lot too.

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to the forum, you have a beautiful car. I think I'd drive to Houston just for the experience of attending a Jag meet at any place called the Black Labrador Pub! And then I'd get some professional work done on my car too

Steve
