Just new to Jaguar Forums. Been watching for some time and found some interesting feedback on issues with Jaguar cars. Thought I would register to put some input into some small problems I have encountered along the way with 1999 XK8. As a mechanic I have had little to do with Jaguars until friend bought early XJ6 4.2. Great car but always had ongoing niggles particularly fuel system. Then I found XK8. Prevoius owner had fixed most of problems that this model had so now it is a great drivers car. Only ongoing niggle is car occasionally goes into safe mode which now has been diagnosed as faulty throttle position sensor wiring plug. Now have fluid leak from convertible roof but thanks to previous input from forum members been able to diagnose and repair problem.
