My dad and I recently bought a 1990 Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign 4.0-litre. This is our second XJ40 after owning a 1988 3.6-litre. It is a bit of a project, but we look forward to getting it running and enjoying the car.
All Jaguars are a 'bit of a project'. The only difference is the ratio of road time to garage time.
