Hi all!
Purchased a 2001 XJ8 last week after doing quite a bit of research on this site for information regarding potential problems with the XJ8. Suffice it to say you guys have been a great help in my decision process. The car has just shy of 60k on the clock as is in terrific condition. Was able to get service records from the local Jag dealer where the car was originally purchased. Was very well maintained. In the process now of checking the cam chain tensioners. Will check out the tranny soon.
Thanks again for providing such a wealth of information. Looking forward to a long Jaguar relationship!

Follow Norri's link to the X308 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Need help, send me a PM, just around the corner in Virginia Beach. Rob at Abacus Racing is a big help (off Bakers Road, just west of US 13 near Norfolk Airport), much cheaper than Yara. Double check everything Don passes over the counter at the Flag; nothing worse than waiting on a part, pulling the old one out and finding he pulled the wrong number.

Bought my 01 XJ8L from the CF BMW dealer two blocks from my house, did tensioners, did water pump and thermostat, hoses up front, belt and belt tensioner, front shocks, upper shock bushings (buy inserts from Welsh), and sway bar bushings. Found great instructions on the forum. jameshartz@***.net

Biggest problem, there are no junker locally to find missing or broken parts.
