Greetings all,
First time Jag owner, got an 2004 X-Type 2,5L AWD last autumn for my daughter, so that she can manage her daily school trips safely.
I have to say, that 4-wheel drive vehicle was the way to go this winter, record breaking snowfall in the southern Finland.. over 60cm, even here in the 'south', near Helsinki-area.

Cat needs a lot of TLC, she was heading for the dark side as we met.. she's waiting for me in the garage as I write this; I've already done few things to get her purring:

Changed heater core hoses, as one of them blew during my daughters first school day in the fall, and left her stranded on the side of the road. Quick (and dirty) fix later I was able to get her (and daughter) home, and after SNG Barrat supplied me with new hoses, she was running again. To those in similar situation with those; hoses can be replaced by dismantling heater core from under the dash and feeding the hoses trough the firewall to engine compartment; you cannot replace them via engine bay.
Changed several leaky seals, valve cover gaskets, plugs, IMT O-rings, upper and lower intake manifold seals, done RE85 mod etc.etc, injector o-rings on the schedule next.
My only wish is, that my garage was sightly bigger.. it's a pain to be able to work only on the front or back of he car, and on only on side at the time.
Glad to be a part of this great forum !

BR, Mikko

Hello, Mikko,
Congratulations on buying your daughter an X-type Jaguar! What a classy way to drive to school!
And, congratulations on all your successful repairs!

Almost ALL of us long for a bigger garage, no matter how big ours is. "Stuff" keeps migrating into it leaving only just enough space for the car and little space to actually work on it.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Default Good to hear

I have almost the same model as you and have change the hoses a year ago. It seems hard to get all the molded shaped hoses when replacing them. I am currently going to change the exhaust 02 sensors possibly this weekend.

Regards, Jeff
