Hi my name is Roger, I live just north of miami, in Hollywood, fl. Icurrently own a Dodge Ram SRT-10. My dad has a 02 Jag S Type 4.0L just sitting around. It's in fair condition but it is in need of a crankshaft bc the current one is spun. The car is at a friends shop and he says he has a shop that can reman the crank for a $1000 including install. Does anyone know where I could find one cheaper, like options because I can't find anything for this engine in my searches. basically my dad will let me have the car if I pay for the repairs so I want to get it repaired finally after almost a year and park the Ram.
Thank You in advance!

Welcome to the forum rrod. Sounds like a sweet deal to me and $1000 to rebuild the engine sounds very cheap, I doubt that it would end there.

However for 'tech questions' you need to ask over in the S Type forum. The guys over there will be able to offer good advice.

Don't forget to find out why the crank went or the second one will go the same way.
