Hi!
My name is Chip Spencer and I bought a 1998 Jaguar XJ8L back in July of this year to serve as a daily driver when we needed a second car. The Jaguar XJ series has been my boyhood dream car. Where the rest of my friends had American muscle cars, I dreamed of a luxury XJ. It had 87,700 miles on it when I bought it. I am the fourth owner. The first two owners seems to stay up on the maintenance and keep the car in tip top shape. The third owner seemed to be a junkyard mechanic using whatever he had on hand to do the repairs. I have been taking my cat to the boys over at The Jaguar Doctor in Winter Park, Florida. These guys know what they're doing. They give fair prices and are honest mechanics. I do the work myself where and when I can. But when ita beyond my skill set, I bring it to Andy at the Jag Dr. Right now I am chasing electrical problems that so many seemed to be plagued with.

Welcome to the forum Chip,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Hello, Chip,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar! And, on finding a shop to care for such an "aging" beast! In these parts those are rare as hens' teeth.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
