Post New member from Georgia, 1987 XJ6

Hello! I am a first time jag owner, a green 1987 XJ6 4.2L. I bought it even though it was somewhat impractical for me ( not a master mechanic or having loads of expendable money). But, when i saw the price the guy was asking, and after i used every sales pitch in the book to get my wife's approval, I said the heck with good reasoning skills and went for it. I've always loved jags- of all the luxury cars, they surpass in the looks department by far. So far I love it, but it has been a money pit, as I had been warned. But truly the faults lie with being a 24 year old car, not being a jag in itself. I knew it would be a project car. I just wasn't sure how much of a project it would be, until I started trying to use things on a daily basis and found that they didn't work at all or only on the occasion. So, I ask for your help and patience as i go through this journey that many have been down before, as I try my best to fix things myself and end up with a car that is still running. Thanks for having me!

We'll be glad to help. Most of the problems you're likely to have with a Series III are well documented with known cures...but a puzzler does come up every so often.

Cheers
DD

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com. I know that you are anxious to get started and we are anxious to meet you and talk about your car. We have a baseline / criteria that must be met before full access can be granted. Please enjoy the forum and be patient once the baseline has been satisfied full access will be granted. Please continue to post and accept my welcome to the forum.

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.
