Iam looking for engine number of my1987xj6
Hello^^
I have just imported my 1987 xj6 from sandiego to korea .
To register my car i should pass some inspections from my goverment .
They need general data of my car and engine number .
I found general date . But it is hard for me to find where engine number is
If someone have any idea where the engine number is located Please let me know .
Thank you for reading have a good day.^^

I am not sure it even has one !!!
VIN's largely supplanted them way back.
It is on the metal strip under the bonnet at the top of the fire wall.
I'd give them that number.
Caveat: I have no idea as to what jurisdiction you live in.

It is stamped along the flange where the transmission and engine meet, right behind the transmission oil dipstick. It is facing you as you look down into the engine compartment, but is Very hard to see due to oil and other schmutz on the motor. You will likely have to clean the flange to see it.

Andrew.
