Hello ; New member from SW Chicago
After a 3 year search I finally made a purchase of a 2000 XKR with only 39K early this year.

Has good body & bones with relatively small amount of Codes or ones that were easy to resolve.
I like the classic small sport car look and handling except for the ultra stiff suspension that tends to rattle my body at times.
I also have a local Master Mechanic that knows the ins & outs of Jag maintenance which is a real plus since I stopped working on cars in the 70's and the forums are full of horror stories! I have found some very useful information however.
Looking forward to a long association with my Jag > And Yes my brain drools with all the ways to improve the design.

Welcome to the forums BigEddie,

The suspension should be firm but not bone-jarring. Perhaps time to have the bushes and dampers checked despite the low miles.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Yes having the bushings / shocks checked now!
Also, found that when the dealer put on the new tires he over inflated them to a storage pressure of 50lbs!
I reduced to X100 Std's which was a great improvement in basic driving ride.
