Hi to all members. Many thanks for accepting my membership, I am the proud owner of a 1998 XJ8 that is in great shape for its age, based in Stockton-on-Tees, North East.

I can see you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Hello everybody. My name is Peter Hobman, from Southern California, and I own an XK8, 2002, which I bought with 2 bent ex valves due to a broken cam chain, caused by a bad tensioner. Always up for a challenge I stripped the engine and replaced all the bad parts. The engine and car run beautifully, but I'm stuck on the P1000 code and can't get smog, comprehensive component holding me up. In Ca. we can only have EVAP incomplete!
