Hi, my name is Ed and I live about 20 minutes north of Lucerne in Switzerland. My Jag is a 2005 X Type 2.0 D Estate with 129,000 kilometers. I have had it about 5 years and it has been a pretty good car until now... I have a transmission issue that I have just posted on the X Type forum.
I'm a willing mechanic and I always try to fix it myself before bringing it to the shop. I do my own oil changes and brake jobs.
This is my third Jag, I had a couple of XJ6s way back when.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type tech forum with the transmission issue so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
