Hi guys, my name is Dan and I am from Maryland. I have been on this forum many many times, but somehow I never logged in.You may care that I have 2002 Green XKR with 84K and wrecked 99 XK8 with 60k that used to be mint, eat off the bottom beautiful and smooth and no problems for me. I was at an intersection in July that someone blew, plowing a 370Z that then spun and kicked the "battered princess" clean over 2 lanes and over a curb. Needless to say I am sore. I happened to find the XKR, same colors and also stunningly clean a couple weeks later and replaced the XK8. I have kept the XK8 for parts ($1,350 was a good price and I want the dash). My son drives a gorgeous 96 VDP with 230k on it. Otherwise, about me, I have always had british cars. I started with Hillmans, went to Sunbeams, had a sunbeam restoration shop for a time, I restored a 74 XJ-12L and it was quite beautiful and the engine was spectacular, but bad bits just wore me out. I had a TR-6 for a beater for 11 years and for a few years I had a 67 XKE coupe that I sold because it was 50 year old guy magnet. I just sold my Smartcar of 11 years, which saddens me because I really did beleive in the concept and loved it, but it had some constant sorting to do and I got tired of the contorted hands trying to reach things in the engine "bay". Thats me, a british car guy self inflicting over and over. Can't wait to post my questions!

Hello,
I'm sorry your Jag got smashed, but I'm very glad you survived the ordeal relatively unscathed.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
